Approximately 25% of ODU students are military affiliated. Our programs help prepare young men and women to be officers in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

ODU ROTC Programs
Our ROTC students are leaders in their own corps and battalions, as well as in many other campus organizations. On average, Old Dominion University ROTC students graduate in four years with about 10 more classes than other students.
Active Duty Military, Spouse & Dependent In-State Tuition Benefit
This benefit entitles active duty military, spouses and dependent children in-state tuition rates.

Freshman

Transfer
Transfer students have previously attended a regionally accredited college or university after graduating from high school or receiving a GED. No matter where you began your college career, you are now ready to join the ODU community and experience classes with ODU's world-class faculty on our vibrant metropolitan campus.
Graduate
At ODU, graduate students engage in small classes with dedicated faculty who are professionals in their fields. Each of our graduate programs offer challenging courses as well as excellent research opportunities.
Second Degree
Second degree applicants have already earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and want to pursue an additional bachelor’s degree in a different course of study.
Non-Degree
Old Dominion University offers non-degree admission for visiting students or those interested in receiving a licensure. As a non-degree student, you can further your education without being committed to a degree program.
Reactivation
Whatever the reason, if you had to stop taking classes at ODU and you left in good academic standing, we encourage you to come back and finish your degree. Students who have previously attended ODU and have not taken classes for longer than one year must complete the reactivation process.
