'African American & LGBT Experiences in Hampton Roads' Is Topic of Colloquium This Evening

Old Dominion's Institute for the Humanities and Gay Cultural Studies will present a colloquium, "Queer Intersections: Presentations on African American & LGBT Experiences in Hampton Roads," from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in the Burgess Room (9024) of the Batten Arts and Letters Building.

‪Several speakers from will address both the challenges and unique opportunities gays, lesbians and transgendered peoples of color have encountered in Hampton Roads. The panelists are: Michelle Breedlove (organizer, Hampton Pride), Christie Lake (REEL it Out Queer Film Festival), Judah Lamar (ODU Ph.D. student), Chadra Pittman Walke (REEL it Out Queer Film Festival) and Toni-Michelle Williams (Access AIDS Care).

The colloquium is free and open to the public.
