The Provost’s Conversations on Teaching and Learning are open to all faculty members, and offer the opportunity to reflect and share about the teaching and learning process.
On Thursday, October 10, Steve Zeil will discuss “Leveraging Technology to Support both Face-to-Face and Online or Hybrid Teaching” from 12:30-1:30 in the Conference Room of the Learning Commons@Perry Library.
Dr. Zeil has been offering online courses for over 15 years, frequently teaching the same course in live and online versions during alternate semesters. As a member of the Department of Computer Science, he has spent decades researching the problem of why it’s so hard to detect bugs in computer programs. Consequently, he says that he views most new technology with a mixture of fascination and distrust.
In his Conversation, he will focus on the importance of finding a personal mix of technological tools that streamline the instructor’s job in the long run.
