Visitor Lot (7) Improvements

The Visitor Lot (7) is under construction to improve traffic flow and safety, unify payment operations, and provide better customer service to the university. The lot will re-open Monday, August 18th with the follow upgrades: New entrance / exit: The single entry and exit for the lot will be along 49th street directly across from the Visual Arts Building. There is no longer a connection between the visitor lot and the adjacent faculty / staff parking lot (Lot 8). The gated entry with ticket dispensing machine and payment booth have been removed. Traffic Flow: Upon entering the lot, traffic will turn right to circle through the lot in a counter-clockwise, one-way direction. Payment: Two pay stations, identical to those used for metered parking in other ODU parking structures, have been installed to the left of the ticket windows located on the east side of the 49th Street Stadium Garage (E).  To pay for your space, simply park, remember your space number (labeled on the asphalt), enter your space number in the pay station, and enter the appropriate payment for your visit duration ($1 per hour). The pay stations accept cash and credit cards, however no change is returned, and bills cannot be refunded once deposited into the machine. Save your receipt, however, there’s no need to display it on your dashboard. Payment will be required Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm. Customer Service: Transportation and Parking Services staff will be available in the ticket windows located on the east side of the 49th Street Stadium Garage (E). The staff will be available from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm to answer transportation and parking-related questions and provide directions to additional parking locations on campus.    The attached map depicts the Visitor Lot location in relationship to the 49th Street Stadium Garage (E).
