Dean's Welcome

Kenneth B. Kahn, Ph.D.

Welcome and thank you for visiting Old Dominion University's Strome College of Business! We are home to a diverse student body of over 3000 undergraduate and graduate students that includes a substantial number of military and veterans, plus over 25,000 alumni. Our internationally-recognized faculty and staff have won numerous awards for their teaching, research, community engagement, and customer service.

The majors, minors, certificates, and programming associated with the Strome College offer so many opportunities for personal and professional growth. Whether a prospective student, an alumnus, or a company interested in partnering, we welcome your exploring our website, coming to our campus, and joining our community. And there are many student clubs and honor societies affiliated with our programs that connect with business and help students build a professional network, such as the American Marketing Association, Society for Human Research Management, Finance Club, and Beta Alpha Psi.

We are proud to be recognized as a leading business school in the Commonwealth of Virginia and intent on solving business problems in the Hampton Roads region and beyond. We also are proud to be one of a select number of business colleges globally where both the College of Business and its Accounting programs are accredited by AACSB, the leading accrediting body for colleges and schools of business.

Our College is unique in having additional accreditations too. For example, Our School of Public Service is accredited by NASPAA, which is the global standard in public service education. Our Personal Financial Planning major has received Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards recognition. Our Human Capital Management program has been accredited by the Society for Human Resource Management. Our Financial Planning Program meets standards set by the Financial Planner Board of Standards. And our Real Estate Program meets standards set by the Appraisal Institute. All of these accreditations mean that our programs and the experience that students receive from our College meet rigorous standards.
