Research Interests

I have worked at the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center (VMASC) at Old Dominion University (ODU) since 2011. My research interests include data analytics, simulation education, and verification and validation. I maintain a specific focus on advancing credible and reproducible analytical approaches for simulation models that can meet the expanding needs of model users to support claims of validity, veracity, and health informatics. Recent advances in the openness and transparency of science as well as standards in the ethical conductance of research with human subjects have made great strides in improving scientific rigor and instilling confidence and credibility in research outcomes. As part of this global push for open science and replicability of research, I am pushing my research towards facilitating openness in data ethics, research team ethics, and statistical reporting ethics for scientific research.

My research represents a constant and ongoing commitment to expanding the state-of-the-art in simulation and data analytics topics, to improving the reproducibility and credibility of simulation outcomes, and to improving the accessibility of interpretation connected to analytical outcomes and their practical significance within their associated contexts.
