News

The Virginia Business & Professional Women's Foundation House (VBPWF) is a unique cooperative living option for approximately 9 academically talented female Virginia residents. Residents form a small close-knit community where teamwork and personal development beyond the classroom is valued.

Applicants must demonstrate high academic promise and financial need. A special application and interview process is required. Qualified residents receive a room scholarship which pays for most costs associated with the occupancy, maintenance, and operation of the Foundation House. Residents are responsible for the cost of a full meal plan and a small semester fee.

As a group-living community, residents are expected to fully contribute to the overall management of the House through the sharing of household tasks, health and safety inspections, program development and house governance.

All bedrooms are non-smoking rooms furnished with two beds, two desks with chairs, two dressers, and a closet. Five bathrooms are shared by the residents. A kitchenette is available to residents. However, residents interested in purchasing a meal plan, may visit the Dining Services' website for an explanation of all meal plans. Students living in this residence hall have an Academic-Year Agreement Period from August 24, 2012 through May 11, 2013. The Foundation House closes over break periods, including: Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks. Students will need to make alternate housing arrangements during this time.
