ODU Deans Schedule State of the College Addresses

The deans of Old Dominion University's six academic colleges will soon present their State of the College addresses to begin their respective academic school years.

The addresses are held in the weeks surrounding ODU President John R. Broderick's State of the University address, and amplify and emphasize themes that each college will stress in the coming year.

Dean Linda Irwin-DeVitis of the Darden College of Education will present her State of the College address at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, in 100 Kaufman Hall. Dean Gilbert Yochum of the College of Business and Public Administration will present his State of the College address at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, in 1002 Constant Hall.

Dean Charles Wilson of the College of Arts and Letters will present his State of the College address at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, in the Batten Arts and Letters Building auditorium. Dean Shelley Mishoe of the College of Health Sciences will present her State of the College address at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, in the University Theatre, located in the Health Sciences Building.

Dean Oktay Baysal of the Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology will present his State of the College address at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, in the E.V. Williams Engineering and Computational Sciences Building auditorium. And Dean Chris Platsoucas of the College of Sciences will present his State of the College address at noon Thursday, Sept. 6, in the Big Blue Room of the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
