Dominion Enterprises President to Give Landmark Executive-in-Residence Lecture

Jack Ross, president and COO of Dominion Enterprises and Landmark Media Enterprises, will deliver a Landmark Executive-in-Residence lecture Thursday, March 27, for Old Dominion University's College of Business and Public Administration.

An ODU graduate who began working for Landmark in 1984 as an advertising sales representative with The Virginian-Pilot, Ross will speak from 12:30-1:20 p.m. in Room 1005 of Constant Hall. The free program is sponsored by the business college; pizza and beverages will be provided.

Ross has served a variety of roles for Landmark, a media and marketing services company with more than 5,000 employees, headquartered in Norfolk. He was named vice president/general manager of For Rent Magazine in 2001, and led the successful integration of the United Advertising Publications acquisition in 2000 into Dominion Enterprises. This continues to be the largest acquisition in the company's history. Ross was named to his current position in 2009.

He is active in a variety of civic endeavors, including Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, the ODU Educational Foundation and the Greater Norfolk Corporation. He delivered an ODU commencement address in May 2012.

A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ross moved to Norfolk when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School and holds a bachelor's degree in business from ODU.

Established in 2001, the Landmark Executive-in-Residence program is funded by an endowment from a group of former Landmark Communications executives in honor of Frank Batten Sr., former chairman of the executive committee of the Landmark board and first rector of the ODU Board of Visitors.

The program is dedicated to bringing accomplished business leaders, many of whom are ODU alumni, to campus to share their history and vision, giving students the opportunity to learn firsthand about the strategies and experiences that forge great ethical global leaders.
