Department ofTeaching & Learning

The Department of Teaching & Learning in the Darden College of Education prepares professional educators, conducts research, and provides service to the greater community of learners.

We offer advanced degrees or initial licensure for those entering the teaching profession, as well as for practicing teachers who wish to further develop their expertise. Programs are designed for early childhood, elementary, middle school and secondary school teachers as well as reading specialists and library media specialists.

In addition to the masters program, we offer doctoral degrees in Early Childhood, Curriculum and Instruction, and Literacy Leadership.

We also offer alternative programs, including the Military Career Transition Program (MCPT) for selected concentrations.
