What is Reactivation?

Reactivation is for students who have previously attended Old Dominion University on a degree-seeking basis and then voluntarily left the University in good academic standing. Reactivation is only required for students who have been separated from the ODU for more than one full academic year. Reactivation is NOT for students who left the university because of academic suspension, non-degree students or international students. Second degree students who reactivate must return to the original program of study.


  • Reactivation form (If the separation from the University was longer than five years, the applicant will need to resubmit all official transcripts and necessary credentials.)
  • Official transcripts from regionally accredited colleges or universities if attended during separation from ODU

Returning from Academic Suspension

Students may apply for re-admission through the Office of Academic Continuance following the completion of the suspension period. All readmitted students are required to attend the Academic Continuance Experience for Success (ACES) workshop before the beginning of the semester of readmission.
