Honor Scholarships

The Honors College scholarships are awarded to a select group of entering freshmen who, on the basis of their academic achievement, are chosen to participate in the program. The scholarship may be renewed up to three years (six semesters) provided the students continue to meet program participation standards. Recipients are selected by the Dean of the Honors College.

In addition to being eligible for a wide variety of other scholarships available to Old Dominion students, Honors College students can apply for the following scholarship in the spring semester of each academic year:

The Cranmer-Skinner Scholars

  • Minimum 3.25 grade point average
  • Participation in extracurricular activities

Prestigious Scholarship Support Program

Each year the Prestigious Scholarship Committee selects students who will represent Old Dominion in several scholarship competitions:

f you are interested in competing for one of these awards, please contact the Honors College Dean (Dr. David Metzger, dmetzger@odu.edu) in the second semester of your sophomore year so that you can be informed about the internal review process, application materials, and deadlines. In order to receive Old Dominion University's endorsement for one of these scholarships, you will need to submit materials for the university's internal review process, and the Prestigious Scholarship Committee will need to select you as one of Old Dominion's applicants for the scholarship competitions.
