New Service for the University - NBC Learn Higher Ed
On August 19, 2013, Information Technology Services and the University Libraries will begin to support NBC Learn Higher Ed, a new service available to the University community. NBC Learn Higher Ed is a collection of primary source videos, newsreels, documents, and images that can be used for research, projects, and in classroom and online teaching.
More than 12,000 stories from the NBC News archives, one of the largest news archives in the world, dating back to the 1920s are included. Collections are updated with current events every day, Monday through Friday, with stories from such celebrated programs as NBC Nightly News, the TODAY show, Meet the Press, Dateline NBC, as well as the networks of MSNBC, CNBC, and Telemundo.
NBC Learn will be accessible as a Blackboard building block, which allows users to embed videos directly into Blackboard learning management systems, and through the Library Catalog and Find Databases A-Z.
Information and instructional videos on how to use the NBC Learn resources are available at http://www.nbclearn.com/tools/ or by downloading the NBC Building Block User's Guide. Additionally, ITS has prepared the attached Guide to help users access the NBC Learn resources from within Blackboard.
