Prominent Educators Bain and Dede Provide Keynote Addresses CLT’s Faculty Summer Institutes on Teaching and Learning

2013:  At last May’s Faculty Summer Institute on Teaching and Learning, Dr. Ken Bain, historian, educator, and author of the international best seller “What the Best College Teachers Do” (Harvard University Press, 2004), delivered a thought-provoking keynote address entitled “Learning By Design: How to Foster Deep Learning.” 

Dr. Bain’s thoughtful and inspirational keynote address is now available for viewing in the Center for Learning and Teaching’s Highlights at We encourage you to view it, enjoy it, and learn from it. 

2014:  At this year’s Faculty Summer Institute on Teaching and Learning entitled “Online and Face-to-Face Teaching: Realizing the Best of Both Worlds”, Chris Dede, the Timothy E. Wirth Professor in Learning Technologies at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, will offer the keynote address.  In 2007, Dede was honored by Harvard as an outstanding teacher, and in 2011 he was named a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association.  His latest co-edited book is “Digital Teaching Platforms”, published by Teachers College Press, 2012.
