Vinod Agarwal, Director of the Economic Forecasting Project and Professor of Economics, earned his doctoral degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He served as a member of the Virginia College Building Authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia from July 204 through June 2012. He was a member of the Governor's Advisory Board of Economists from 2006 to 2010. Professor Agarwal also served as the Chairman of the Old Dominion University Economics Department from 2001 to 2006. His research interests are in the area of applied economics. His articles have appeared in various journals such as Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Quarterly, Journal of Travel Research, Economic Development and Cultural Change, Eastern Economic Journal, Economics of Education Review, Growth and Change, Journal of the American Real Estate and Urban Economic Association, Social Science Quarterly and Southern Economic Journal. He is author or co-author of more than 60 professional journal publications and research monographs. Gary A. Wagner, Associate of the Economic Forecasting Project and Professor of Economics, earned his doctoral degree from West Virginia University. Prior to joining Old Dominion University, Gary held faculty positions at Duquesne University, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Wagner is a public finance specialist who studies state and local government tax structures, rainy day funds, borrowing costs, and pension systems. He has authored or co-authored more than 40 articles and reports, many of which have appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Law and Economics, National Tax Journal, and Public Choice. Dr. Wagner is a past recipient of Duquesne University's College of Business Distinguished Research Award and Public Finance Review's Outstanding Paper Award. He has given more than 40 presentations at professional conferences and has been interviewed by more than 100 media outlets including Bloomberg News, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Boston Globe, CBS News, Fox News, and Fox Business. Dr. Wagner also served on the Arkansas Governor's Council of Economic Advisors from 2008-2011 and he is an active participant in the Survey of Professional Forecasters sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
