Academic Coaching

Student group shot

Academic coaching is a service for students who want to improve their academic and self-management skills. Sessions are scheduled by appointment only, however, drop-ins may be accepted if appointments are available.

Coaches work collaboratively with students to identify unique learning strengths, develop individual plans for academic support, and promote self-confidence and independence.

Refer a Student to an Academic Coach

There are many benefits of meeting with an academic coach. Coaches can help students

  • learn to use a syllabus effectively
  • manage busy work and school schedules
  • adopt new study/reading strategies
  • develop positive habits that lead to academic success

And more. But don't take our word for it; see what other students are saying about academic coaching.

Academic coaches are professional staff members and graduate assistants from the Office of Academic Enhancement. Each has experience supporting college students through one-on-one assistance, small group instruction, and instructional/digital development. Contact one today!

During your FIRST academic coaching appointment, we will have a conversation and assess your needs. We'd work with you to identify your learning strengths and develop an academic support plan for the rest of the semester. The initial appointment may last up to 45 mins.

The content and structure of any coaching session after that is determined together with you and your coach. You may meet as often as once a week or as little as once a semester.
