Learning Community:Writing for College Success

Writing for College Success - ALL MAJORS

In this learning community (linked classes) students will examine their current transition to college and the experiences of Christopher Johnson McCandless as he journeyed into the Alaskan Wilderness. Through extensive discussions and completion of specific writing assignments, students will learn to think critically about the collegiate experience, thus better preparing themselves for success.

  • Develop critical thinking skills
  • Develop strategies for planning, drafting, and revising texts both locally and globally
  • Discover their place within the University-how to contribute, how to seek assistance
  • Develop strategies for success when working with others via peer reviews and oral presentations
