Hispanos & Latinos Unidos (HLU)

HLU's mission is to represent and vocalize the views of Hispanic and Latino Students at Old Dominion University (ODU) in order to (1) build a strong Hispanic and Latino community and (2) provide a comprehensive understanding of the Hispanic and Latino culture.

Hispanic Demographics

In 2011, Hispanics and Latinos became the largest minority group on college campuses across the country and Old Dominion University prides itself on its Hispanic and Latino student population with a total of 1,205 for fall 2011; 1,159 for spring 2012; and 1,307 students enrolled for spring 2013. With Latinos expected to be one-quarter of the population by 2030, HLU is an important vehicle in vocalizing the views of Hispanos & Latinos at Old Dominion University.

HLU meetings are held in the Intercultural Center, 2nd floor of Webb Center (2114 Webb Center) and the Office of Intercultural Relations (OIR) invite you all to consider becoming part of HLU.
