Each of the six academic colleges and the two program colleges at Old Dominion University provide a variety of academic advisement resources. Please select your college for more information on the academic advising and major selection/declaration process.

College of Arts & Letters
Students with fewer than 24 credit hours and/or have not earned credit for ENGL 110C (English Composition)* are advised through the main advising center in the Batten Arts and Letters Building, room 1006.
*except for Music and Music Business/Production majors. Contact the Music Department directly.
Students with credit for ENGL 110C and 25 or more credit hours are eligible to declare their major and are advised by a faculty member in their chosen major department.
Students majoring in a Teacher Education program within the college are also advised by Teacher Education Services in the Darden College of Education.
College of Business & Public Administration

available in the main advising center in Constant Hall, room 1011, (757) 683-5777.
Continuing students are advised by a faculty advisor in their chosen major.
Students with 80 or more credit hours and those in Distance Learning programs are advised by Jennifer Usis, the director of advising for the College of Business and Public Administration, in Constant Hall, room 1011. firstname.lastname@example.org.
Business students in academic difficulty are advised by Tourgee Simpson (email@example.com) , assistant director of advising for the college. Mr. Simpson is located in room 1011 Constant Hall, (757) 683-5777.

Darden College of Education
Students with fewer than 25 credits hours are advised by the Darden College of Education's Academic Success Advisor, Ms. Mirta Williams (email@example.com), in room 1500 Webb Center. Batten College of Engineering & Technology
Students admitted to the University who are interested in pursing a degree in an engineering field who have not met the criteria to declare a major are advised under the following:
Math 102M placement: Students beginning the engineering program with placement in MATH 102M-College Algebra are advised by the Academic Success Advisor, Ms. Tania Alvarez. Appointments may be made online at https://shibboleth-odu-csm.symplicity.com/sso/ by selecting EN Tania Alvarez or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Ms. Alvarez is in room 129-G, Kaufman Hall.
MATH 162M placement or higher levels of math: Students with placement in a math course beyond College Algebra are advised by Ms. Bonita Anthony, the Assistant Director of the Engineering Fundamentals Division. Appointments may be made by calling (757) 683-5877 or by email at email@example.com.
Transfer students with credit for Math 211 and 24 or more credits are advised by a faculty member in the chosen major department.
College of Health Sciences
All pre-majors are advised in the College of Health Sciences Advising Center. Advising appointments for pre-majors can be scheduled by calling 757-683-5137 or stopping by the Advising Center, room 2112 of the Health Sciences Building at 4608 Hampton Blvd. between 46th and 47th Streets. The main entrance for the building is located on the 46th Street side of the building and signing up outside the office door. A 30-minute appointment is required for every student every semester. Your Advisor Block will be lifted by your advisor at this pre-registration appointment.
Students accepted into the chosen major are advised by a faculty advisor within the discipline.
College of Sciences
The College utilizes faculty and professional academic advisors to assist undergraduate students. The College's Advising Center, under the direction of Ms. Kim Herbert, is located in room 236 of the Mills Godwin Life Sciences Building.
