All ODU students are welcome to join the MonarchTeach program; however, if you either enrolled at ODU prior to Fall 2013 or are transferring into ODU as a junior/senior, you should be aware that completing the MonarchTeach program can delay your graduation date significantly. While you do not have to be a freshman or sophomore to be a part of MonarchTeach, you do need to be willing to stay at ODU long enough to complete the program. You should be aware of the planned implementation schedule for MonarchTeach courses and the delays it may cause in your academic plans.
It is important to note that any credits you earn through MonarchTeach will not satisfy course requirements in the current math and science Teacher Preparation programs.
Please contact MonarchTeach for more information. As always, discuss your degree plan with your academic advisor in your department. You will also need to contact the advisors in Teacher Education Services to discuss your plans to take either the professional core courses presently being offered or the MonarchTeach courses under development.
