NOW HIRING: Outdoor Adventure Program Trip Leaders

The Outdoor Adventure Program is now hiring Apprentice Trip Leaders to help lead our Trips Program. The Old Dominion University Outdoor Adventure Program is designed to offer students a unique and valuable opportunity to experience the outdoors. The trips program is a part of the OAP that works to facilitate an outdoor experience for our participants that allows them to learn about the outdoors while also gaining a better understanding of themselves. At the core of this program are the Trip Leaders, who are paid staff members who have successfully completed the Apprentice Training Program and have a real passion for the outdoors.

It is the job of the Apprentice Trip Leader to desire to become a part of our team and be willing to learn everything necessary to be successful in the role of trip leader.  This process includes training in everything ranging from soft skills such as communication and team building to hard skills such as winter camping and stand-up paddle boarding.  Upon completion of the training program, Apprentices become full trip leaders and are paid for their work as a trip leader.
