The National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing is the premier professional and scientific association addressing the communication interests and concerns of black communication science and disorders professionals, students and consumers. The association is the model for other organizations addressing the concerns of diverse populations.

Student Council for Exceptional Children

Advisor: Mrs. Linda Miller-Dunleavy

Membership is typically for undergraduate and graduate students in special education and speech-language pathology.

The overall purpose of SCEC is to promote future leaders in the education of children and youth with exceptionalities as well as promote programs designed to inform students of special education and to encourage them to become involved with their peers with the possible result of becoming a part of the profession of special education in the future.
