Course Information

The SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications are built upon the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge™ (SHRM BASK™)which is more than an exam outline. It defines the standards for knowledge, strategies and competencies required for effective HR professionals around the world.

Our course is based on the SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCPComprised of comprehensive learning modules teaching the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge™ (SHRM BASK™), and advanced online multimedia resources, these study materials streamline study time, accelerate learning and build confidence for passing the SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP exam. Susan Craft, Founder & CEO of Consulting by Design of Princess Anne, has been a Strategic Business Partner with leading firms in the area for over 25 years. She holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Administration from Troy State University. Susan is certified as a SHRM-SCP from Society for Human Resource Management. In addition, she holds the certifications SPHR, Senior Professional in Human Resource and GPHR, Global Professional in Human Resource from Human Resources Certification Institute. She is a Core Consulting Partner and Certified Trainer in Connected Leadership, Leader P.O.V., Connected Communications, and Connecting with Executives with CODA Partners. Susan is the Immediate Past Chair of the Eggleston Board of Directors, Past State Council Director for Virginia SHRM State Council, Past President for Hampton Roads Society for Human Resource Management and continues to serve on various boards and committees throughout the state. She regularly presents at conferences, seminars, and workshops. Susan teaches for Old Dominion University Strome College of Business and School for Continuing Education. Susan has extensive experience and expertise in the following areas: Leadership Development, Employee Relations, Recruiting & Retention, Compensation & Benefits, EEO & Diversity, Health & Safety, Downsizing/ Rightsizing, Organizational Development, Training & Development, Career Development, Executive Coaching, 360º Assessment, International HR, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Stacy Hawks, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, IPMA-SCP is a Senior Human Resources Analyst with over sixteen years of experience in the private and public sectors. Her broad experience includes, employee relations, compensation, organizational development, talent acquisition, management, payroll and benefits. Her career has included work in various industries including professional services, technology, public safety and medical services.

Stacy completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources Administration and holds a Masters of Business Administration. She is certified as a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), a Human Resource Certification Institute Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and an International Public Management Association for Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (IPMA--SCP). She is currently the President of the Hampton Roads SHRM Chapter and has served in various leadership roles at both the local and state levels of HRSHRM and VASHRM. Stacy lends her expertise to various activities including being a judge for Best Place to Work For in Hampton Roads and serving as a member of the Human Resources Committee at Eggleston Services.

Refund Policy

To withdraw from a course you must send a request in writing to davans@odu.edu (7) days prior the start date of the course. Failure to attend a course does not constitute withdrawal. Course registration fees, less a $50 processing fee will be refunded via the original form of payment. There are no refunds once the class has begun. Late withdrawals of six (6) days or less before the class begins, will result in the student being charged the $50 processing fee, as well as charges for books and/or other course material fees.
