Dr.s Smithers and Fischer, with EPPE student Faith Watrous, published Impasses of affective inquiry in pandemic times in the International Review of Qualitative Research after their fieldwork with learning communities took a drastic turn during the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper explores how they negotiated data collection about affective inquiry in a setting (video-conference) that is not conducive to affective inquiry.
