Supporting and Empowering LGBTQ+ Students. Using small group activities and facilitator feedback, this workshop will provide participants the opportunity to revise current classroom strategies to better meet the unique needs of LGBTQ+ students. Topics will include: terminology, support for students in sharing preferred pronouns and names, on- and off-campus resources for LGBTQ+ students, unique challenges and opportunities of working with LGBTQ+ students, and strategies to address LGBTQ+ student needs before the semester starts and once it is underway. Aug. 4, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
