Open Forums Scheduled to Solicit Input About Campus Master Plan

Old Dominion has begun to create a new campus master plan that will help guide the physical development of the university's buildings, infrastructure and campus amenities to support ODU's mission and goals.

A series of open forums has been scheduled this month to provide an overview of the master plan initiative and to garner opinions, ideas and feedback from the campus community.

Open forums for staff members are scheduled on the following dates:

Wednesday, Jan. 16, 3:30-4:15 p.m., Webb Center - James/Lynnhaven River Room

Wednesday, Jan. 23, 1:30-3 p.m., Webb Center - James/Lynnhaven River Room.

Open forums for faculty members are scheduled on the following dates:

Wednesday, Jan. 23, 3:30-5 p.m., Webb Center - James/Lynnhaven River Room

Friday, Jan. 25, 3-5 p.m., 1002 Constant Hall.

At the staff and faculty sessions, representatives from the architecture and design firm Perkins + Will will solicit input on the components of the plan. Staff and faculty members are also encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas about any other topics associated with the physical campus.

An open forum for students is scheduled for 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, in the Isle of Wight Room of Webb Center. At this forum, campus planners will seek input with particular attention to several components of the campus, including Webb Center and its role in supporting a more robust student life, housing, pedestrian circulation, recreation, student services, transportation and parking.

"Your insights are critical to the success of this project and will help shape the future success of Old Dominion University. We look forward to seeing you at the meetings," said David Harnage, ODU chief operating officer.
