ODU Ensembles Featured in Downtown Concert

The virtuosity of Old Dominion University's Department of Music will be displayed April 10 at the Roper Performing Arts Center, in downtown Norfolk.

"The Heart Beat of the Department" is a concert that will feature the ODU Percussion Ensemble, directed by David L. Walker; the ODU Wind Ensemble, directed by Dennis Zeisler; and the ODU Symphonic Band, under the direction of Alexander Treviño.

The Sunday performance begins at 3 p.m. Admission is free.

The Roper Performing Arts Center is located at 340 Granby St., on the campus of Tidewater Community College.

The program is dedicated to the memory of Mark Schulz, a lecturer in Old Dominion's Department of Music who directed the University's state-of-the-art recording studio. Schulz passed away last week.
