Free ODU Cyber Security Camps Open to Middle, High School Students

Old Dominion University will offer two cyber security day camps this summer for middle and high school students through the GenCyber program, which is funded jointly by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation.

The camps will provide interactive, hands-on learning activities to educate students about cyber security as a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and career pathway.

Each camp will be open to 40 registered students in 8th through 12th grade. Students do not need any prior background or experience in security or computers to attend. The camps are free to attend; lunch and a snack will be served at no additional cost.

Both camps will be held on the main Norfolk campus of Old Dominion University. The camps will be held July 11-15 and July 18-22. Both sessions run daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Reservations are required. Each camp session is limited to 40 students. It is preferred that applications be received prior to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016.

For more details, or to register, visit the GenCyber camp website. Questions may be directed by email to gencyber@odu.edu.
