4400 Club Wins Award for ODU for Best Revenue-Generating Idea

Before the 2015-16 basketball season, Old Dominion University Athletics, working with the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation (ODAF) and the Ted Constant Convocation Center, embarked on an ambitious plan to re-brand and renovate the third-floor club area in the North end of the Constant Center.

In a nostalgic twist, the club area was renamed the "4400 Club," a reference to the popular nightclub that stood on the same spot during the 1970s and 1980s.

The renovation was recognized by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) as the best new revenue-generation idea of the past year at its national convention in Dallas, Texas, in June. The University's winning submission for the 4400 Club was chosen over entries from all Division I FBS schools. More than 900 entries were submitted in 13 categories.

The 4400 Club project upgraded the club level seating area with new décor, amenities and food and beverage options, including free popcorn, a throwback to the atmosphere at the original club.

The upgrades helped drive additional season ticket sales in the 4400 Club, surpassing the previous season by 50 percent and increasing club ticket revenue by more than 146 percent.

Seats in the 4400 Club can be purchased for the 2016-17 season by contacting the ODAF at 757- 683-6963. Tickets are $350 per seat, and customers must be at a $1,000 or higher giving level with the ODAF. The price includes snacks, access to alcoholic beverages and premium food options on the club level, and parking.

The Old Dominion Athletic Foundation is the sole fundraising vehicle for ODU Athletics. It was established in 1964 to raise financial support for Old Dominion University Athletics and to ensure that coaches and student-athletes have the resources necessary to compete for championships.
