Graduates Honored for Academic Excellence

Six students who earned bachelor's degrees Dec. 16, also received recognition for academic excellence by the Old Dominion University Alumni Association.

At the Student Honors and Awards dinner Dec. 14, undergraduates with the highest G.P.A. from each college - who completed at least 60 hours at the University - were feted.

As part of the recognition, each student named the faculty member who proved most inspirational to them during their coursework at ODU.

"This is always one of the most exciting times on campus," Old Dominion Provost Augustine Agho said. "The opportunity to recognize students for their outstanding academic achievements and honor those faculty who have played a vital role in their success is an honor and a pleasure."

AWARD RECIPIENTS and Inspirational Faculty members:

  • Max Allee, College of Arts and Letters; Charles Gray, senior lecturer in sociology and criminal justice;
  • Chase Brasher, Strome College of Business; Eric Anderson, associate professor of economics;
  • Margaret Rhodes, Darden College of Education; Corrin Richels, associate professor of communication disorders and special education;
