Letter to Graduates Regarding Commencement
March 22, 2021
We are pleased to share an update on your commencement ceremonies at Old Dominion University. Last week, Governor Northam announced revised guidance for how universities may safely hold in-person commencement ceremonies. As a result, we are putting logistics in place with these guidelines in mind to host celebrations on campus for the classes of 2020 and the spring class of 2021 in May.
We are planning an in-person ceremony for the 2020 graduates and the spring 2021 graduation candidates as well as a virtual university-wide main ceremony for both classes.
Due to the evolving guidance, we will continue to communicate updates by email, through ODU social media channels, and on the commencement website.
You should expect a final announcement by April 2, 2021, that will include information about registration and other logistics that are still in progress.
In the meantime, please stay well. Thank you for your patience as we navigate through the details of how to celebrate you safely. Please continue to Reign Responsibly.
