Center for Learning and Teaching Opens Registration for Virtual Faculty Summer Conference
April 09, 2021
The theme for the 2021 Faculty Summer Conference could hardly be timelier, now that online education has become the default mode for institutions the world over.
"Transforming the Online Student Learning Experience" will be presented virtually on May 18 by Old Dominion University's Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT). You can see the day's schedule and register at 2021 Faculty Summer Conference.
Meeting via Zoom, hosts, presenters, and guests will explore how to engage online students and help them succeed.
Among the questions to be addressed: How do we plan, organize, develop and deliver an effective online or hybrid course? How do we design effective and engaging course assignments and assessments? How do we employ emerging technologies?
The program will encompass both the emergency remote teaching spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic and the kinds of courses that are painstakingly designed to be delivered online. Old Dominion University is a recognized leader in the latter, thanks to the work of CLT and the Office of Distance Learning. ODU's online program is the largest in Virginia and is perennially ranked among the best in the nation.
