Physicist Forrest P. "Pat" Clay Jr. was an expert on electrical circuits. But he made connections far beyond Old Dominion University. Clay, a professor emeritus who taught at Old Dominion from 1961 to 1993, died on April 15. He was 93. (More)

Robert Lee Kernell, Longtime Physics Professor, Dies at 91
Robert Lee Kernell, a physics professor in the College of Sciences for 26 years and the first Old Dominion University faculty member to be named Virginia Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), died on Jan. 22. Mark D. Havey Posthumously Awarded Professor Emeritus Designation
At its meeting of December 10, 2020, the Board of Visitors approved the designation of Eminent Scholar Emeritus, University Professor Emeritus and Professor Emeritus of Physics to Mark Havey. Dr. Havey was an exceptional teacher, scholar, and researcher. During his 40 years of service, he made significant contributions to Old Dominion University and touched the lives of many students.
