The Master of Library and Information Studies Program at ODU is pleased to announce the Florence Pavlides Blankenship Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was made possible by a generous gift from Bob and Irene Wood, who honor and celebrate the life and work of Irene's late sister Florence P. Blankenship, who was an ODU alumnus (BA '62, MSEd '84) and a librarian in Virginia Beach Public Schools for 33 years.

The Blankenship Memorial Scholarship is the first scholarship to support graduate students in the MLIS Program. It will be available to students enrolled in the MLIS Program. This first scholarship will be awarded in the fall semester of 2021 to a student who has been accepted into the MLIS Program in 2021. The scholarship will be based on financial need and administered through the Office of Financial Aid at ODU.

The MLIS Program is incredibly grateful to Bob and Irene Wood and is honored to celebrate Flo's work with this scholarship. For more on Flo and her life, read here.
