Merit based and renewable for up to four years, the Undergraduate International Student Scholarship (ISS) covers partial tuition up to a maximum of $10,000 USD per year.
Eligibility
- Newly admitted (never previously enrolled) undergraduate international student
- Pursuing an initial Bachelor's degree
- Minimum "B+" equivalent grade point average (GPA)
- Valid non-immigrant visa status
- Ineligible for in-state tuition
- SAT not required, but recommended
Requirements
- Financial Need Analysis Form
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from previous teachers or advisors. Leadership ability through school and community activities should be addressed.
- One (1) page essay indicating academic intent and personal goals.
- TOEFL iBT 79/PBT 550 or demonstrated English proficiency
- SAT test scores (highly recommended, but not required)
Deadlines & Awards
Along with a complete international undergraduate application, all ISS supplemental requirements must be received by the Office of International Admissions by April 15 for the fall (August) semester or October 1 for the spring (January) semester. Applicants are notified regardless of whether or not an ISS scholarship is awarded.
Renewal
ISS recipients must maintain the following:
- Full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours for both the Fall and Spring terms)
- Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.25
- Valid non-immigrant visa status
- Ineligible for in-state tuition
