Skip the Tolls - Take Your Classes at the Tri-Cities Center

The tolls for the Elizabeth River Tunnels (Midtown and Downtown Tunnels) start on February 1, 2014 and are expected to remain in place for 60 years. If you live, work or play in Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, and surrounding areas you can "skip the tolls" by taking your classes at the Tri-Cities Higher Education Center. We are a full-service facility offering undergraduate 300 and 400 level classes and graduate level classes in many degree programs offered by Old Dominion University. The cost for a car or truck with an E-ZPass is $1.25 (off-peak hours) and $1.50 (peak hours). Peak hours are Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. All other times are considered off-peak hours. Registered, pre-paid, pay-by-plate cars and trucks are $2.50 (off-peak hours) and $2.75 (peak-hours). Unregistered, pay-by-plate vehicles are $3.75 (off-peak hours) and $4.00 (peak hours).
