Virginia. She is the author of Angela Johnson: Poetic Prose (Rowman & Littlefield, 2006) and co-author (with Gail K. Dickinson)

- Hinton-Johnson’s scholarship focuses on literacy materials created specifically for blacks; literature for adults, children
and young adults, especially works labeled multicultural; critical biographies of black writers, and literary criticism.
