Department ofInterdisciplinary Studies

Student with laptop

Old Dominion University offers Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) degree programs for students who are interested in two or more fields of study that don't easily fit into a traditional college department.

There are several IDS majors that already have approved courses of study: Teacher Preparation, Professional Writing, and Work and Professional Studies. In addition, Old Dominion offers the IDS Individualized Program which gives undergraduate students the opportunity to design their own degrees.
