Counseling Services Invites Campus Community to ‘Dance Away the Distress’
December 03, 2012
Old Dominion University's Office of Counseling Services is hosting "Dance Away the Distress" on Thursday, Dec. 6, in the Hampton/Newport News Room of Webb Center.
The annual event, from noon to 2 p.m., is held to help students, faculty and staff decompress from classes at the end of the semester and learn some stress-relieving skills through dance and music.
Food will be served for those who wish to alleviate stress in other ways. And to burn off those calories, Ya Gamilia! will teach belly-dancing moves to participants, while the Student Dance Association will lead Zumba lessons.
A DJ will play upbeat, danceable music through the entire two hours.
Other co-sponsors of "Dance Away the Distress" include Active Minds and the Psychology Student Association.
