SKYWARN Weather Spotters Training Upcoming

Are you interested in severe weather?
Do you want to help provide critical information to the National Weather Service (NWS) to help keep ODU and the greater community safe?
If you answered yes to either, consider becoming a SKYWARN Spotter! The Old Dominion University Office ofEmergency Management, in partnership with the City of Norfolk, is offering a Basic SKYWARN training session on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Norfolk Health Department at 830 Southampton Avenue (beside the EVMC/Fort Norfolk light rail station).
The session will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on the third floor in classrooms B/C and will provide an overview of NWS functions, weather safety, mechanics of various weather phenomena, how to report information to NWS and much more.
