Licensed ODU Vendors Will Show Off Merchandise April 3
March 23, 2017
Old Dominion University departments and organizations looking for ODU-branded material for fund-raising events or giveaways will have an opportunity April 3 to see what's new and hip in Monarch swag.
The first Vendor Expo held at ODU since 2012, hosted by the University Licensing Department, will feature licensed vendors showcasing branded gift products. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hampton-Newport News Room of Webb University Center. More than a dozen licensed ODU retailers will show off their wares. Free cookies will be available for all who attend.
Many University offices and organizations purchase gift products throughout the year for their staff and events. Jim Clanton, Old Dominion's director of licensing, said the show gives vendors the opportunity to introduce new and popular promotional products to an eager Monarch audience.
"This show is exclusively for campus departments and student organizations here at ODU," Clanton said. "The show will allow the campus community to meet face to face with several reps from officially licensed ODU vendors that can produce promotional items bearing ODU trademarks and logos."
Many companies sell promotional products, but not all are licensed to produce merchandise with collegiate logos, Clanton said. "The vendors in attendance have been approved by both ODU and our licensing partner, the Collegiate Licensing Company."
In addition to providing merchandising opportunities, the show is valuable to vendors, offering an opportunity for feedback from potential customers for the branded merchandise. They also can answer questions regarding purchases of branded merchandise.
Before ordering any promotional products from licensees, University departments and organizations are asked make sure to follow all ODU procurement procedures and policies.
