COVID-19 Testing

REQUIREMENTS:

Due to the current testing shortage, both regionally and nationally, please continue to be good stewards of our testing supplies by testing only if you:

  • Are symptomatic
  • Had exposure (please wait five days after exposure to test and do not test early unless you develop symptoms)
  • Need a test for travel
  • Need to test for internships, practicums, or clinicals to adhere to the off-campus organization's site specific guidelines.
  • Additionally, athletics also has testing and vaccine guidelines that they must adhere to as part of the NCAA guidance.

Weekly testing for non-vaccinated individuals is no longer required.

APPOINTMENTS:

All ODU students can request an appointment for FREE COVID-19 testing through the Monarch Wellness Portal. (View instructions for how to set up an appointment: Step-by-Step PDF or YouTube video.) Do NOT test for COVID-19 if you had a positive result within the past 90 days.

You may also contact your primary care physician, local urgent care facility, or visit the Virginia Department of Health COVID-19 Testing Sites page to find a nearby testing location.

LOCATION:

All COVID-19 testing takes place at Student Health Services in the Webb University Center. Schedule an appointment to be tested via the Monarch Wellness Portal. At the time of your appointment, please report to the side door entrance to Student Health Services across from the Old Chemistry Building (follow the signs).

HOURS OF OPERATION:

The Student Health Services in the Webb University Center is open to students for free testing:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Walk-in Appointments will be honored based on Availability. Do not test for COVID-19 if you had a positive result within the past 90-days.

COVID-19 TESTING RESULTS

Results will be provided through the secure messaging system in the Monarch Wellness Portal within 24 to 48 hours from the time of your appointment. Please continue to protect yourself and others by following the recommended CDC Guidelines.
