Since 1964, the AACSB-accredited ODU MBA Program has been designed to provide a high quality management education enhanced by many unique opportunities for students. Students can work on their MBA full-time or part-time. Classes are offered days, evenings, and weekends at our Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Peninsula Center (Hampton), and Tri-Cities Center (Portsmouth/Suffolk/Chesapeake) locations, and semesters begin every August, January, and May. Our 48-credit hour program can be finished in as little as 18 months, or it can be structured over a greater length of time for working professionals with additional commitments.
The MBA at Old Dominion University allows students a great deal of flexibility to select courses of interest. Some may choose a program with a 12-hour concentration plus three hours of electives, while others may elect not to concentrate and develop an MBA program that meets their career needs by choosing electives from a wide variety of subjects.
Additional flexibility is provided by the requirement that each student select three one-hour electives from among several alternatives. These include such topics as effective business writing, leadership in organizations, business ethics, employment law and regulation, global cultures, and business plan development.
The program culminates with the Capstone course, in which students apply knowledge learned throughout the program.
