MonarchTeach Student Interns at the Virginia Zoo

Through an application process, MonarchTeach provides students with summer internship opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. During Summer 2023, one of our MonarchTeach students participated in an internship at the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk, Virginia. Specifically, Courtni supported the Conservation Youth Team program. This is a program at the Virginia Zoo that helps high school students develop important job and life skills, build self-confidence, and earn community service hours, and it provides the intern with opportunities to develop skills related to education, biology, conservation, and management. This internship has given Courtni many opportunities related to education, and she has loved her time at the zoo.
