Athletics
Old Dominion University sponsors 18 varsity sports, 16 at the NCAA Div. I level. The University is a member of the Sun Belt Conference in football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, baseball and women’s volleyball.
- Field hockey is a member of the Big East Conference.

Old Dominion University’s main campus encompasses 335 acres adjacent to Norfolk’s iconic waterfront. The University’s medical campus is located just two miles from main campus in close proximity to downtown Norfolk. The University’s facilities include:

ODU History
- 1930 – Opened as Norfolk Division of The College of William & Mary
- 1962 – Became independent and named Old Dominion College
- 1969 – Named Old Dominion University
- 2024 – Eastern Virginia Medical School integrated into Old Dominion University
