The Old Dominion University Office of Research is dedicated to supporting the work of faculty researchers across six colleges and numerous research centers in a wide range of funded research sponsored by federal agencies, the state and industry. Strategic initiatives include bioelectrics & biomedical research, coastal resilience, cybersecurity, entrepreneurism, maritime, modeling & simulation, spaceflight and STEM education.
The office also oversees research grant development services, research compliance, and commercialization.
At ODU, cybersecurity research takes a cross-disciplinary approach, addressing applications that range from critical infrastructure systems to deliberate attacks from hostile entities.
ODU is situated adjacent to one of the world's most significant ports. Partnerships are focused on workforce innovation, training, supply chain logistics and modeling & simulation.
