Old Dominion University has announced multiple options for graduates and their families to celebrate commencement this year.
The spring commencement ceremonies, which had been scheduled for Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9, have been canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Old Dominion announced Saturday that it will reschedule commencement for a later date. Graduates and parents will be able to attend that ceremony either in person or virtually.
Alternatively, students who cannot participate in the rescheduled commencement may attend a future commencement either in person or virtually.
"We have developed a series of flexible options to accommodate the needs of graduates," ODU President John R. Broderick said. "We want to ensure that everyone who wishes to participate in commencement will have an opportunity to celebrate this joyous occasion."
