Computational Modeling and Simulation EngineeringScholarships


The CMSE Scholarship Committee considers many criteria when selecting scholarship recipients, including but not limited to academic performance, contribution to the department and the greater educational community, and team - support or leadership of his/her classmates.

Undergraduate Scholarships

Augustsson BS/MS Scholarship $5,000

The Augustsson family generously supports the Augustsson BS/MS Scholarship for Modeling & Simulation Engineering at Old Dominion University. The total amount of the award is $5,000 along with a 50% tuition waiver for the first fall term of graduate work. The scholarship will be awarded as follows: $1,800 in the spring semester of the student's undergraduate senior year and $3,200 in the fall semester of the student's graduate coursework along with a 50% tuition waiver for graduate coursework. The scholarship is contingent upon the student maintaining good academic standing and fulltime enrollment in Modeling & Simulation Engineering at Old Dominion University for each semester the scholarship is awarded.

ITEA John Bolino Undergraduate Scholarship $2,000

The International Test and Evaluation Association—Hampton Roads Chapter provides a $2,000 scholarship for an undergraduate engineering student who selects Modeling & Simulation Engineering as his/her major at Old Dominion University.

The scholarship is awarded in the fall semester ($1,000) and spring semester ($1,000) and is applied towards payment of tuition and fees. The recipient must be enrolled full-time, be in good academic standing at the University, declare Modeling & Simulation Engineering as his/her major, and enroll in MSIM 201 for the fall term and MSIM 205 for the spring term when the scholarship is awarded.

VMASC Industry Association BS/MS Scholarship $3,500

The Industry Association of the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) provides a $3,500 scholarship to a recipient who has been accepted in to the CMSE BSMS Program at Old Dominion University. The scholarship is awarded in the spring semester of the student's senior year ($1,750) and the first fall semester of the student's graduate work ($1,750) and is applied towards payment of tuition and fees. The recipient must be enrolled full-time, be in good academic standing at the University as a Modeling & Simulation Engineering major.

VMASC Industry Association Gene Newman Scholarship $5,000

The Industry Association of the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) provides a $5,000 scholarship award to an undergraduate engineering student or students who select Modeling, Simulation & Visualization Engineering as his/her major at ODU and is enrolled in MSIM 201for the fall term and MSIM 205 for the spring term in which the scholarship will be awarded. The recipient must be enrolled full-time and be in good academic standing at the University.

VMASC Industry Association Transfer Scholarship $1,500

The Industry Association of the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) provides a $1,500 scholarship award for a Transfer or Rising Sophomore student who plans to major in Modeling and Simulation Engineering at Old Dominion University. The recipient must be enrolled full-time, be in good academic standing at the University, declare Modeling & Simulation Engineering as his/her major, and enroll in MSIM courses for the fall and spring terms in which the scholarship is awarded. The scholarship is awarded in the fall semester ($750) and spring semester ($750) and is applied towards payment of tuition and fees.
