Miller Analogies Test

The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. There are several equivalent forms of the MAT administered in both computer-based and paper-and-pencil versions.

The MAT consists of 120 partial analogies that are to be completed in 60 minutes. The MAT involves general academic knowledge and analytical skills acquired over years of study and learning. Pearson has study materials available on their website.

Please contact the Admissions Office or the Department in which you plan to study regarding minimum scores and testing requirements for admission to the University you plan to attend.

Please register through our online registration system to select your test date and time.

The test and test administration fee (combined when you register for an appointment on our site) is payable via AMEX, Visa, Discover or MasterCard credit or debit card. The testing fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

  • Bring an appropriate official photo ID (valid state-issued ID, military ID or passport)
  • Bring or know your Social Security Number.
  • A preliminary score report will be availble upon completing the test. Official score reports are mailed approximately 10-15 business days after your test date.

Refund Policy

Individuals who fail to reschedule by the registration deadline (at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment) or fail to show up for their appointment will need to schedule another testing appointment and repay the test administration fee. Refunds will only be issued (minus a $3.50 fee charged by RegisterBlast) if notice is given in writing (e-mail credentialingcenter@odu.edu) at least 48 hours before your appointment time.
