Jenn Sloggie began teaching first-year composition at ODU in fall of 1999 and has been a full-time faculty member since 2002. She earned an MA in English with a focus on composition and rhetoric and an MFA in Creative Writing with a focus on nonfiction. She has served as the Faculty Liaison for Learning Communities (2014-2016), the Director of General Education Composition (2016-present), Director of the Spring Conference on the Teaching of Writing (2019-2024), and the General Education Reform Administrative Lead (2024-present). Her interests include curriculum development, ePortfolios and reflective practices, inclusive pedagogies, general education, first-year student success, faculty development, program administration, creative writing, composition studies, and advocating for the part-time and contingent faculty who often teach general education courses.
